Bowling

Bowling is a precision sport that was started in the United States at the end of the 19th century by German immigrants. In bowling, a ball with finger holes is thrown at a formation of ten pins or skittles. A bowling evening is fun in itself, but those looking for sporting success need to be fit and have good concentration, technique and tactics.

On Mondays in the odd-numbered calendar weeks from 19:30; on public holidays individual arrangements are made beforehand. If in doubt, it is always worth calling the division head beforehand. We meet between 19:00 and 19:15 to coordinate the training session.

Public transport: S3 and S4 to station “Langen-Flugsicherung” or bus 661 to stop “Langen, Robert-Bosch-Straße Süd”. Carpooling arrangements can be made.

Everyone is welcome, there are no different levels in the training groups.

Comfortable clothes. Bowling shoes and bowling balls can be rented from the bowling center.

You can bowl with FVV for the basic fee. In addition, FVV members have to pay 2.50 EUR per game and, if applicable, 2.00 EUR for rental shoes. At the end of the year there is a refund for members who have played a certain number of games. Before we approach you about membership, you can participate three times without obligation and just try it out. In addition to the affordable membership fee, there are also reduced fees, e.g. for students, and also temporary memberships. Furthermore, as a member you can also participate in all other surcharge-free sports of the club.

We practise throwing techniques, strikes, and provide competitive practice in matches.

We play in several tournaments across Europe and naturally the EuroGames and Gay Games.  Also, we have the “Summer Bowl Cup” and we close out each year with our internal “Pine Cone Tournament.” Every second year we organize the bowling competition at the FVV XMAS tournament.
