Dear friends, dear members!
2022 was not yet another normal year, but it was at least a year that ended on a conciliatory note for us as a club. At the beginning of the year, we were still suffering from restrictive Corona limitations, but from spring on, life in the club almost returned to the way we used to know it. Our sports activities took place without any restrictions and were even expanded. Our events in summer with the important CSD festivities, the fun boat party, the great visit of the EuroGames and finally at the end of the year with the successful XMAS tournament, did us all good. And it also means that we can again show a solid membership growth and the association remains financially stable.
What awaits us in 2023? We hope to be able to implement all our projects and events as planned, and we also want to continue the newly introduced event formats for members with 5-year anniversaries and the reception for new members. We would like to further expand our political-social networking, develop the relationship with our partners and sponsors, and further optimize our sports and event offerings. In doing so, we can rely on the support of our members and know that our division heads are doing an excellent job.
But with all the good news, we must not lose sight of why we actually formed and what continues to hold us together: Just a few years ago, many of us were convinced that full acceptance of queer life was just a matter of time. But far from it! Not only in many countries around the world, no even in the heart of Europe things are going backwards again at a rapid pace! Who ever thought that we, our voice and our work could be dispensed with, was mistaken. We are needed and try to be there for all who come to us and want to find one thing with us: A community that sets particularly strong standards for fairness, respect, tolerance, diversity and participation.
Good that we are here. Good that we are strong and good that we are many.
We wish you and your loved ones a peaceful, successful and happy 2023!
