Soccer is not exactly considered a model sport when it comes to respect for queer people. After all, young gays and lesbians often still have a very hard time in their league club. But gay men are just as passionate about kicking as the others, so it’s really no surprise at all that soccer at FVV looks back on a long history. It started in the summer of 1993 as a casual Sunday meeting in Grüneburgpark. It didn’t take long for the loose group to become a department – regular training started in September 1994 in the sports hall in the Northwest Center. Recently, the department was honored for 25 years of membership in the Hessian Football Association.
