The motto of this year’s Frankfurt CSD (Pride) was “Protect diversity by law. Not tomorrow, but now!” and thus reminded that the legal equality of queer people is still not fully achieved. In everyday life, this means for people who are gay, lesbian, bi, trans* or inter* that they are still stigmatized, experience discrimination and even violence.
The FVV as the strongest member organization of the local community was of course also there this year and set a visible sign for openness and diversity. After the cancellation in 2020, there was again no big street festival this year, but with the event at the Römer and the following protest march through downtown Frankfurt, our demands were clearly audible and visible in society.
