Volleyball at FVV Frankfurt – fun, games, and team spirit since the club was founded!
Volleyball is the founding sport of the Frankfurter Volleyball-Verein e. V. (FVV) and remains one of our largest and most active departments to this day. Whether you want to play volleyball in Frankfurt in a relaxed atmosphere or take part in league competitions, FVV is the right place for you!
Our training groups are aimed at beginners, recreational players, and experienced league players. We are happy to help you find the right team and training time – whether you are new to Frankfurt or have been playing for a while.
The FVV stands for diversity, openness, and sporting solidarity. New players are always welcome. Come by, get to know us, and become part of our Frankfurt volleyball community!

Training times & locations – Volleyball at FVV Frankfurt
There is usually no volleyball training in the sports halls on public holidays or during the school holidays. However, where possible, the department management organizes hall times during the holidays.
During the summer holidays, we also offer beach volleyball in Frankfurt – so you can stay active and keep up your game during the warmer months.

Join in and play volleyball with FVV
Volleyball is the founding sport of FVV – and to this day, many gay men shape our department with enthusiasm, team spirit, and passion for the sport. At the same time, we stand for openness, diversity, and inclusion: everyone who enjoys volleyball, works well in a team, and has basic knowledge of the game is welcome to join us.
If you would like to come by for the first time, please contact us in advance so that we can integrate you into the training session in the best possible way. You can find our contact details in the contact section.
All you need for training is sportswear (shorts, T-shirt) and indoor shoes. If you have knee pads, feel free to bring them along. Nets and balls are provided. For safety reasons, please remove any loose jewelry before training.
BEGINNERS
Would you like to try volleyball in Frankfurt? Great! We appreciate your interest and warmly invite you to a trial training session. Just write to us – we’ll help you find the right training group.
EXPERIENCED PLAYERS
Have you played for FVV before or do you already have volleyball experience? Then come back and join us! We offer several training groups for different skill levels and will find the right one for you.
You can train with us up to three times for free and without obligation before you decide. Just sign up for an individual trial session.
CHILDREN AND TEENAGERS
Unfortunately, we currently do not offer volleyball training for children and teenagers.
Membership & Costs at FVV Volleyball
Our basic membership fee covers all hall usage and coaching costs, allowing you to fully concentrate on your training. The club also provides all necessary training equipment. The membership fee is fair and offers reduced rates for students and other groups.
As a member, you not only have access to our volleyball programs but can also participate in all other FVV sports at no additional charge.
The club also covers the HVV competition fees and the entry fees for the Queer Volleyball League for you. You only have to pay for personal expenses such as jerseys, travel or accommodation costs, and entry fees for external fun tournaments.

Hessian Volleyball Association (HVV)
FVV Frankfurt in the HVV League
Since the 2022/23 season, the Frankfurt Volleyball Club (FVV) has been actively participating in the Hessian Volleyball Association (HVV) league again – and with growing enthusiasm!
From September to March, our teams compete for points and rankings in exciting home and away matches. The participating teams come from across the Rhine-Main region, making every game a true regional highlight.

Queer Volleyball League (QVL)
FVV Teams in the Queer Volleyball League
In addition to league play in the HVV, FVV Frankfurt is also represented by several teams in the Queer Volleyball League (QVL) – a Germany-wide LGBTIQ+ volleyball league that stands for openness, diversity, and the joy of sport.
The league is usually held as a tournament across three weekends between April and September. Teams from all over Germany and neighboring countries compete at different levels for points and trophies.
Participants organize their own travel and accommodation but benefit from carpooling and private accommodation exchanges, making the experience more affordable and social.

Volleyball with International Flair – Tournaments & Community
The Frankfurter Volleyball-Verein e.V. (FVV) organizes the largest and most important annual LGBTIQ+ multi-sport event in Europe. We are particularly proud of our legendary Christmas Tournament, which regularly welcomes over 1,000 athletes from all over Europe to Frankfurt.
Our volleyball department organizes a tournament with over 30 teams across three to four performance levels – from recreational to league level – with great enthusiasm, commitment, and organizational talent. It is a sporting highlight that celebrates team spirit, diversity, and fair play.
And because sports bring people together, we also warmly invite you to take part in exciting fun tournaments organized by friendly clubs in Germany and abroad. You can find a selection from our partner club, the Queer Volleyball League,
