Running

To run regularly is fun and improves the condition, the cardiovascular system is pushed and the BMI is optimized. The running group meets once a week. The summer route, about 10 km long, runs up the Main River to Offenbach docks and back. The group also organizes our regular cycling tours and the annual RainbowRun.

We always choose the speed for running and cycling so that everyone can keep up. If there are enough participants, groups with different speeds can also be formed.

We also take part in competitions – so we take part in the FVV XMAS Tournament. To participate in official competitions of the German Triathlon Union and the Hessian Triathlon Association, a licence is required and can be applied for through the FVV. Competitors without a licence can purchase a day licence at their own expense.

Before we approach you about membership, you can join three times without obligation and just try it out. In addition to the basic membership fee, there are also reduced fees, e.g. for students and also temporary memberships. As a member, you can also participate in all other FVV surcharge-free sports. When cycling, costs may arise for necessary journeys by public transport and for food and drink on the way. Entry fees for competitions are to be paid by the participants themselves.

We run on every time of the year, even the weather is bad. Further dates on announcement.

FVV Cycling Group – Exploring the Rhine-Main Area together by bike

All club members who enjoy cycling in a group are welcome.
We focus on community, experiencing nature, and the joy of cycling.

We ride with a guide—but without a coach.
This means no performance pressure, no competition, but relaxed and friendly interaction.

Our guide leads the tour, sets the route, pace, and breaks, and ensures everything runs smoothly—always keeping an eye on the group and fostering a respectful atmosphere.

We choose a pace that allows everyone to keep up comfortably. No one is left behind.

From March to October, we organize tours between 40 and 70 kilometers—mostly in the Rhine-Main area.
The routes are varied: often flat, partly hilly, and occasionally more challenging.

The respective difficulty level is indicated in each tour announcement.
If the group size allows and different fitness levels are represented, we are happy to split into two groups.

This way, everyone can ride at their own pace and enjoy the tour.

Longer rest breaks are also part of our rides—after all, socializing is an important part of the experience.

Organization and Registration

We coordinate participation of FVV members via the Sportmember app.
Interested parties who are not yet members of FVV should contact Matthias directly.

In addition to the planned tours, there are always spontaneous rides—it’s worth staying flexible!

What you should bring:
– A safe bicycle suitable for both road and light off-road use
– Weather-appropriate clothing
– Something to drink for the ride
– A cycling helmet (recommended)

In principle, everyone is welcome—regardless of fitness level or experience.
If you are unsure whether a tour is right for you, please contact us in advance. We will advise you honestly and find a suitable option.

Safety and Responsibility

Participation is at your own risk. These are shared leisure rides.
We ride on public, open roads and paths in compliance with all applicable traffic regulations, in particular the German Road Traffic Act (StVO).

We look forward to many enjoyable kilometers and a strong community on two wheels!
For us, community means: starting together, riding together, and arriving together.
