FVV hosts German Synchronized Swimming Masters for the first time

On November 1 and 2, 2025, the time will have come: On behalf of the German Swimming Association (DSV), we will be hosting the 29th International German Masters Synchronized Swimming Championships. This will be the first time that a queer sports club has organized an official DSV championship – a strong sign of diversity, visibility, and inclusion in German sports.

The venue is the Riedbad Bergen-Enkheim in Frankfurt, where athletes from all over Germany and beyond will compete in solo, duet, team, and combination competitions. All athletes born in 2004 or earlier who belong to a federation affiliated with the World Aquatics Confederation (WAQ) are eligible to participate. The age groups range from 20 to over 80 years and are scored either individually or as a group average, depending on the discipline.

Saturday begins with the technical routines in the solo, duet, and team disciplines, followed by the free combination with music. On Sunday, the free routines are on the program before the award ceremonies take place in the afternoon.

For us, this championship is much more than a sporting event. It is an expression of our conviction that sport is for everyone – regardless of sexual orientation or lifestyle. The fact that the FVV, as a queer club, is hosting an official DSV championship shows how much has changed – and how much we can achieve together as a community. We look forward to a weekend full of sporting excellence, fair competition, and diversity in action.
