Do I have to attend regularly?
No, you do not have to come on a regular basis. Though, regular exercise may improve your immune system, your body might fight off side-effects from the antiretroviral therapy more easily and it will proof more fun the more often you join training.
Who can take part?
Absolutely everyone who wants to improve their health or want to stay fit, especially HIV-positive people, are welcome. The advantage of our group: whilst you might decide to push your limits or increase your shape step by step, you are always invited to just follow your physical performance limits.
What do I have to take with me?
A towel to lay on the mat, possibly a second one to take a shower. In the summer, light sports attire is recommended (T-Shirt, shorts). In the winter months, warmer clothes are recommended (sweat shirt, sweat pants).
Be sure to bring enough water to drink.
Each training session is 2 hours, activation and relaxation phases are well dosed based on your individual fitness level; cardiovascular pulse-controls are performed and during all exercises - strengthening, stretching and relaxation - attention is paid to proper technique.
You will be encouraged to break sweat. Your stamina and co-ordination will improve, as you are invited to leave behind the stresses of everyday life and centre yourself.
Is anything included in the FVV-Memebership-fee?
Are you taking part in tournaments?
Various GLBTIQ sports clubs from other cities (e.g. Mannheim, Stuttgart, Zurich and Brussels) offer so-called "fitness workshops" periodically throughout the year. Some of our club members come together and travel to these events. We place a high value on the social aspect of sports and often enjoy a drink after working out - you are welcome to join. Throughout the year, further activities such as walks or barbecues are planned. These events are a great opportunity for lively exchanges, be it stories and news about your experiences or other current affairs.
