Events

FVV sees itself as a committed part of the LGBT* community and therefore participates in numerous events. But we also organise many events of our own in the course of a year. Here is a brief outline of the most important events:

FVV 30:30 // The sports open day of Hessen’s largest LGBT* sports club: Every spring, we present all our sports in a single afternoon in a centrally located sports hall – allowing you to get to know 30 sports in 30 minutes! Pack your sports shoes, come along and get started – no registration is necessary! We attach great importance to easy access to the sports – you can try them all out without any prior experience. For sports that cannot be tried out directly, coaches and section coordinators will be on hand to answer all your questions.

Alte-Gasse-Fest // The annual “Alte-Gasse-Fest” is the big summer party of AIDS Hilfe Frankfurt. The two-day party (including show stage and live programme) takes place right in the heart of the gay Bermuda Triangle not far from Konstablerwache. FVV has a drinks van and information stand.

CSD Frankfurt // It all began in 1969 on New York’s Christopher Street and was celebrated for the first time in Frankfurt in 1992 on Klingerstraße – but has since become the largest queer event in the whole of Hesse and is organised by Frankfurt’s own LGBT* community. Partying and celebrating the rights of gays and lesbians, trans and inter people – that is the idea behind CSD and Pride events all over the world. Our freedom is based on freedom of expression, respect and openness – achievements we are keen to honour. Besides, no one can party as well as we can! FVV is a cooperation partner and has a parade float, information and drinks stand!

FVV Boat Party // The Boat Party is one of the highlights in the FVV calendar and always takes place on the Friday evening of the Museumsuferfest. Originally conceived as a thank-you event for our many volunteer members, the event has been open to all FVV members and our best friends for many years. Tickets are always in great demand!

Lauf für mehr Zeit” charity run // Lauf für mehr Zeit is a charity event to support AIDS Hilfe Frankfurt (AHF). The 5km or 10km course leads through the city centre of Frankfurt, starting and finishing at Opernplatz. FVV assumes the starting fees of any members who take part and runs a cake stand, with all proceeds going to AHF.

FVV XMAS Multisport Tournament // FVV was founded in 1985 as a volleyball club and organised its first international volleyball tournament in 1989. In 1992, badminton was added as a second sport. Bowling and swimming followed in 1993. Today, the XMAS tournament of the FVV is the biggest annual LGBT* multisport tournament in Europe, regularly attracting more than 1,000 athletes, making it the highlight and conclusion of the European LGBT* sports year.
